This position is part of the Executive Office of the President (EOP), Office of Administration (OA), The White House Information Technology (WHIT), Information Security Office, Computer Network Defense Division, Countermeasures Team. Serve as a Countermeasures Analyst, responsible for preventing, detecting and responding to security incidents. Responsibilities are carried out through a team that executes security programs and activity within the EOP.

As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC) Senior Countermeasures Analyst at the GS-2210-13, you will perform the following:
- Provide high level analysis on security data to discover communication pathways, content and scope and to identify significant activity and eradicate risks or threats.
- Research multiple information sources to identify threat activity relevant to EOP systems.
- Participate in on call missions regarding any Countermeasures capabilities, such as Splunk, Palo Alto, Bluecoat and any other applications that the White House Computer Network Defense utilizes.
- Implement proactive and reactive defensive and protective measures to prevent recurrence of incidents.
- Collaborate with security staff from other government organizations. Ensure security systems, including Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), have updated and relevant signature sets.
- Develop and distribute Attack, Sensing and Warning (AS&W;) activities and Indications and Warning (I&W;) data.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: All applicants must meet the qualification requirements outlined below to be considered minimally qualified for this position. The qualification requirements are in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standards. ALL QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY 07/03/2017, the closing date OF THIS ANNOUNCEMENT.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
SPECIALIZED OR GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have a minimum of one year of experience at the GS-12 level; the level of difficulty and responsibility must be comparable to the next lower grade or comparable pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. Examples of experience must include: experience working in a fast paced Information Technology operations center that monitors multiple lines of Information Technology fields, experience coordinating working groups of internal and external clients; and assessing Information Technology risk to resolve Information Technology threats on multiple platforms.
All specialized experience and basic requirements must be clearly documented in the applicant's resume.
At the GS-13 level education cannot be substituted for experience.
