JOB SUMMARYThe Sensor Engineer I is primarily responsible for research, design, development, testing and support of the electronic hardware used within ground penetrating radar systems. Responsibilities include support of new and legacy system architectures as well as individual sub-assemblies. Collaborate with firmware, software, algorithm and systems engineers in development and improvement of sensor solutions. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, test and maintain analog, digital, and mixed signal circuitsTroubleshoot and repair circuits and systemsSchematic capture and layout of PCBsParticipate in verification/validation plans and proceduresParticipate in field tests of systemsResearch new technology and development toolsAll employees are expected to be in compliance with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYN/A EDUCATIONBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required EXPERIENCEOne to five years of pertinent engineering experience in Aerospace or Defense development environmentExperience with CAD software for electronics design such as Mentor Graphics PADSProven ability designing high-speed digital circuits ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONSMust have ability to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Secret level clearanceStrong spoken and written communication skillsKnowledge of Ground Penetrating Radar systemsKnowledge of ultra-wideband RF systemsRF ASIC design experienceSignal processing programming with MATLAB PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSLifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects, weighing up to 10 pounds occasionally and/or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Use of computer. Up to 15% travel required.
