IT Project Manager TS SCI with Poly Required

Our network engineers, controllers, and technicians are trained in multiple disciplines to successfully maintain legacy systems as well as insert the latest technologies for voice, data, and video networks in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Jacobs has an opening for a Project manager to work at their customer site in the Reston, VA area. Duties include:

  • Serves as the manager for large, complex network integration projects (or a group of task orders affecting the same common/standard/migration system) and shall assist the Regional Manager in working with the Government's authorized representative and customer agency representatives.

  • Under the guidance of the Regional Manager, the candidate is responsible for the overall management of the specific IT Projects and insuring that the technical solutions and schedules in the task order are implemented in a timely manner.

  • Performs enterprise wide horizontal integration planning and interfaces to other functional systems. Plans and supervises multiple projects and/or task orders involving complex information systems software development.



  • BS degree from an accredited engineering school and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of engineering experience with at least one (1) year in project management, or a MS degree from an accredited engineering school and seven (7) to ten (10) years of engineering experience or a Ph.D. degree and two (2) to five (5) years related experience

  • Demonstrated competence in project management and technical competence in discipline field(s) and knowledge of company policies and practices

  • IT background and LAN/WAN architecture experience. Position will be responsible for managing multiple projects and will be required to have the following mandatory skill set: MS Project expertise, experience with project management principles, schedule creation, cost estimation, excellent communication skills, implementation plan design, and briefing skills

  • Requires demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by prior supervisory experience

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with others

  • Prefer PMP Certification and ITIL Certification

  • Experience with network management disciplines, (FCAP), which includes Fault management, change management, access, and performance. Also strongly prefer experience with strategic planning, procurement management, 1st article implementations and incident management

Essential Functions

  • Work Environment:fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers

  • Physical Requirements: Most work will be done at a desk or computer

  • Equipment and Machines:General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment

  • Attendance:Attendance is critical at all times. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur

  • Other Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others

  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation

  • Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing

  • Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements

  • Must be willing to travel as needed

  • Must take and pass a drug test and background check
