Aurora is seeking an entry to junior level HR Associate to support our Corporate HR Department in Manassas, VA. This person will support all HR activities at the site including performance management,
compensation and benefits, HRIS, training, and employee recognition.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Provide duties related to an HR Generalist and have knowledge in multiple disciplines to include but not limited to performance review process, employee relations, employee orientation, compensation, benefits, , training etc.
Ensures compliance with all Federal and State employment laws.
Provides information and guidance related internal policies, practices and assist with problem resolution
Supports activities, employee initiatives, and special projects
Supports key aspects of the recruiting and staffing processes and administration of affirmative action Plan
Creates and maintains accurate integrity of personnel records including adhering to regulated archiving requirements to include personnel file management.
Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with the Human Resources team. Must be approachable - easy to talk to, puts others at ease
Generates HR reports for analysis. Maintains confidentiality of employee information and ensures security
Reports to Corporate Human Resources Manager
Ability to work independently, yet sees others as partners and essential team members
Bachelor’s degree or higher in human resources or related discipline, with 0-3 years of experience as an HR Specialist.
Basic knowledge of federal and state employment laws is required.
HR certification (PHR) is preferable.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc). Experience with HRIS i.e., ADP, SAP etc is a must. Knowledge of other systems related to general office processes i.e., Sharepoint, Concur is a plus.
Must be able to appropriately, discretely and effectively handle and communicate sensitive information and have a strong understanding of confidentiality
Must be able to perform analytical tasks and be highly detail-oriented and meticulous about ensuring information produced is accurate
Must be able to apply effective time and self-management skills in a busy work environment and meet deadlines despite regular interruptions
Excellent skills in communication (oral and written), including presentation, influencing and negotiating skills
Must be able to work independently or in a team environment and demonstrate professionalism when interacting with others.
Must be a US Person
