Aerojet Rocketdyne seeks a Technical Documentation 4 to join our team at our Culpeper, VA location.
The Technical Documentation Support 4 provides general and specialized information processing and data quality control support. Provides information planning and control processes in support of Division activities. Provides document control, reproduction and distribution support for drawings, specifications and related data.
This position may be filled at the level posted or at the next level higher.
Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):
Under limited direction, performs the following duties:
50% - Responsible for maintaining files for drawings, specifications and related documents.
15% - Prepares copies of drawings and related documents on xerographic, or other reproduction equipment and distributes by prescribed procedures.
10% - Maintains several data base structures.
10% - Coordinates problem resolution and reconciliation across multi-functional boundaries. Investigates discrepancies and makes corrections within prescribed limites. Creates statistical reports to measure norms and trends.
5% - Performs data input from source documents into database.
5% - Develops ad hoc reports within the computer system to retrieve information for review and verification purposes.
5% - Maintains both manual and computerized logs and records of documentation in specific areas of assignment.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Performs administrative support duties as required. May provide work leadership to less senior operational data support personnel.
Requires high school education or equivalent and at least seven (7) years of directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
U.S. Citizenship only required. Dual Citizenship does not meet job qualifications.
Additional Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:
Must have thorough knowledge of processes, practices and procedures pertaining to the essential functions of the position.
Must be able to execute a complex sequence of operations where standard procedures are available, but changing conditions occasionally require independent action.
Ability to translate system data into spreadsheets or charts for subsequent analyses is required.
Requires thorough knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software packages used in area of assignment. Requires thorough knowledge of database file structure to facilitate complex ad hoc report generation.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other function specific documents is preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Employees in these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer; stamina to sit and to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 15 pounds; may require minimal walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone. May require the ability to travel by air or auto. May require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coat. These positions may be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization.
