ManTech Senior Messaging Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia

As Senior Messaging Engineer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing physical and virtual Microsoft Exchange servers, performing mail database performance tuning, performing performance tuning on Exchange connectivity, and implementing security and vendor best practices in a distributed IT environment.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Engineering, documenting, delivering and maintaining a distributed mail infrastructure based on Exchange 2003, Exchange 2010, and Exchange 2016

  • Diagnosing and resolving the toughest performance, security, and/or technical challenges related to the platforms listed above

  • Writing implementation and design documents describing how security features are implemented

  • Participating in processes throughout all phases of ITIL Service Lifecycle, including submitting Change Requests

  • Performing requirements analysis, design, and integration for all platforms listed above.

  • Providing direction and guidance to less experienced systems engineers and messaging database administrators

  • Investigating and resolving operational problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel

  • Integration and design of Microsoft Exchange servers in virtualized and physical environments

  • Knowledge and experience implementing fault tolerant mail store solutions

  • Knowledge and experience designing e-mail solutions for disaster recovery

  • Knowledge and experience implementing DISA STiGs for e-mail

  • Support for applications that rely on e-mail, including performance tuning and trouble-shooting

  • Work on project teams responsible for engineering and packaging releases to integrate within the customer's production IT environment.

  • Other tasks to include requirements specification, performance modeling, end-to-end functional analysis, cost estimation, and joint application design

Position Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's degree and 5 to 7 years of related experience

  • Exchange 2003, Exchange 2010, and Exchange 2016

  • MCSE Productivity Solutions Expert certification or MCSE: Messaging Solutions Expert certification desired

  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Windows systems, including DNS, Group Policy, and PKI

  • CISSP, Security+ or DoD 8140/8570-compliant certification required

  • ITIL v3.0 or Foundation Certifications highly desired

Top Secret clearance required
