DoDEA consists of three regions, DoDEA Americas, DoDEA Europe, and DoDEA Pacific and a total of eight school districts located overseas and in the U.S.and its territories. DoDEA provides education to eligible DoD military and civilian dependents from prekindergarten through grade 12.

you will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Plan, organize, and conduct a wide variety of studies and analyses designed to identify needs, develop justifications, and prepare implementation procedures for general and specific activity requirements, usually of a critical nature.
  • Serve as the principal staff advisor in the design, development, implementation, and continuing execution of the Priority One Strategies Initiative program and policy.
  • Ensure consistency with prescribed policy and practice as it relates to the standards-based educational program.
  • Collaborate with content specialists assisting with the contracts, resources and instructional material.
  • Assist in the development of training materials for Priority One.
  • Maintain successful working relationships with key individuals throughout DoDEA to solve problems and efficiently implement Priority One.

This position has a Basic Requirement for the 1701 series:

  1. Degree: that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position. or
  2. Combination of education and experience - courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above.

You must have one year Specialized Experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (experience may have been gained in the private/military sector) giving the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position.

Specialized experience required for this position is:

  • Develop formal instructions and provides guidance in the use of and application of principles, including development of performance indicators.
  • Conduct studies as necessary to validate data, collections process, determine trends and communicates findings and recommendations to the Standards and Curriculum Chief.
  • Analyze program management information, identify trends, recognize problems or potential problem areas.
  • Recommend solutions to Standards and Curriculum Chief and senior leaders and ensures implementation of recommendations.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all facets of Priority One and actively communicate with the Standards and Curriculum Chief on the day-to-day operations of strategy implementation.

Your documentation must accurately reflect that you possess the experience, knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to perform the duties of this position. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1.Knowledge of current principles and philosophy of education, its theories, practices and technique. 2.Knowledge of Priority One Strategies Initiative program and policy. 3.Ability to communicate orally and in writing to Upper Level Management and Senior Officials.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements for merit promotion consideration. Time-in-grade is the 52-week requirement Federal employees in competitive service, General Schedule (GS) positions at GS-5 and above must serve before they are eligible for promotion (advancement) to the next grade level.
